This is what Dad had to say about the "Twelve Apostles". 1982 was the year that Dad had his stroke. Mom took Loving Care of Dad, at home, until he passed away,
July 7th, 1986.

"The Twelve Apostles"

"Peter"
Peter the rock,
Left Christ in the lurch.
Yet, on his love for Christ,
God built His Great Church.

"Andrew"
Andrew, the first
Of the fisher's of men,
Brought souls to Christ,
Again and again.
"James The Greater"
James the Greater,
A man of wonder.
Jesus called him,
A son of Thunder.
"John"
John, the greatest Apostle of all,
With love and faith, answered the call.
From Calvary's hill, to Patmos shore,
He served the Master, Evermore.
"Bartholomew"
Bartholomew was one of the twelve,
A Canaanite by birth.
He served the Master long and well,
In His short stay on earth.
"Philip"
Philip was a practical man,
And when Christ said, "Follow Me,"
He dropped what he was doing then,
And gained the Victory.
"Thomas"
Thomas was the doubter,
Yes, he was a doubting man.
But Jesus really loved him,
And showed His nail pierced hands.
"Matthew"
Matthew was a man of God,
Great things of him were said.
He started as a business man,
But went where Jesus lead.
"Judas"
Judas called Thaddaeus,
A fine man and true.
Who served well his Jesus,
All the way through.
"James The Less"
James the Less,
Of whom little is known,
But he served well the Master,
Gained a place at the Throne.

"Simon"
Simon the "Zealot,"
Who hated cruel Rome,
But turned to love Jesus,
Till God took him home.
"Judas Iscariot"
Judas, the betrayer,
Between loves, was tore,
He loved this Jesus,
But he loved silver more.

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; the first, Simon, called Peter, and Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother; Philip and Bartholomew: Thomas and Matthew, the publican; James the son of Alphaeus and Lebbeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus, Simon, the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him.
Matthew 10; 2-4
"Tithe"

Tithing is another way
To serve our God above.
Another way to Thank Him for,
His everlasting Love.

E.H. Coe 1981

"Love"

The bird, the seed, the willing heart,
Comes from God above.
Whom, if we'd only let Him,
Would fill us all with Love.
