A leaf fell from the maple tree,
And floated gently to the ground.
To lie until the snowfall came,
To cover it without a sound.
And trampled in the flower bed,
It lies there until spring.
And then it comes to life again,
By helping other things.
A lesson from this dry old leaf,
We all could learn today.
For though we fall, we still can help,
Others on their way.
