"The Pumpkin And The Scarecrow"

Said the pumpkin to the scarecrow,
One Autumn afternoon.
"I hear on Halloween night,
There will be a bright, bright moon".
Said the scarecrow to the pumpkin,
"That will be of great delight,
For we can skip around the dark,
And give the kids a fright".
They made their plans, and Halloween,
Came with a moon so bright.
They started out just after dark,
To give the kids a fright.
But as they walked deep in the woods,
They heard a terrible WOOO!!!
Said the pumpkin to the scarecrow,
"I'm sure he speaks to you".
Said the scarecrow to the pumpkin,
Their eyes away up high,
"He surely wants to speak to you,
Just the same as I".
Said the pumpkin to the scarecrow,
"This WOOOing is no fun,
The only thing I know to do,
Is break for home and run".
And so they ran, until they reached,
The good old fields of home.
Said the pumpkin to the scarecrow,
"From here I'll never roam".
Said the scarecrow to the pumpkin,
In an awed and frightened tone,
"It really isn't any fun,
To hear the Goblins moan".
And they both knew that they were wrong,
In what they almost did.
And never, never would they,
Frighten little kids!!!
