I can still remember how Mom Loved Reading Story Books to All The Grandkids!! I'm sure They can Remember Too!! On this page, you will read why Dad wrote His Wonderful Poems!!!
I also wanted you to read a few more poems that Dad wrote! More Lessons that we could all learn!!!
"My Reason"

In peace, I sit and make up rhymes,
I suppose I spend alot of time.
For writing these, may seem time lost,
To those who would but count the cost.
To me, the trials of the day,
Escape me best, in just this way.
Instead of being mean and curse,
I take it out on trivial verse.

"Faults Of Others"

The mystery of life to me,
Is how we can so blindly see
The faults of others, who we know,
For we must think, ours does not show.
For if we could, our own faults see,
Then other's faults would smaller be.
And we would be wiser, in the end,
And also have a lot more friends.

"Don't Complain"

Don't you see that it's quite plain,
A person never should complain.
If you complain, you just might see,
The person you don't want to be.
If you complain, you're just a jerk,
Whether it's your health, your life, your work.
Look at the deaf, the blind, the lame,
You hardly hear these folks complain.

"Respect"

Respect the aged, my dear young man,
Respect the aged, while you can.
For their hardships and bitter strife,
Have made for you a better life.
Their given word was good as gold,
The truth for them had to be told.
What you do with tools, they did  by hand,
To make this such a Great, Great Land.
Now just hear this, it may seem odd,
But they all had respect for God.

"Mistakes"

Mistakes you'll make, although you try,
Mistakes that almost make you cry.
You try real hard and all at once,
A mistake, and you feel like a dunce.
Mistakes are useful, if you learn,
Although you must have some concern.
And though mistakes will hurt your pride,
Mistakes will show that you have tried.

"Disgusted"

Disgusted, yes, but don't give up,
Regardless of the cost.
Disgusted, yes, but don't give up,
For then the fight is lost.
If you are right, then do your best,
The battle's nearly won.
Disgusted, yes, but don't give up,
Until the job is done.

"Cheer Up"

When things go bad, do not despair,
Just keep your chin up high.
There may be something in the air,
And will happen by and by.
You may be left a million bucks,
Or made a T. V. star.
Or again, you may just look on luck,
And be happy as you are.
For when you look at what you are,
And what you may have been.
You can thank your lucky star,
And face life with a grin!

E. H. Coe 1972
"Hope, Despair"

Wait in hope, die in despair,
There's sure alot of truth right there.
So work real hard, make dreams come true,
And don't despair, that's not for you.
