The Grandkids loaded in the car, For a trip into the past. To gather apples from the trees, Probably Autumn's last. |
Shake down the apples, pick the pears, Fill basket, box and can. Enjoy these simple things today, Enjoy them while you can. |
Then home we go, because you see, They're hungry as a bear. And Grandma's dinner they all love, They know is waiting there.

When they look back, as years speed by, Into the misty past. They'll surely think of trips like these, These memories will last.
